Best Way to Control Cholesterol and Lipids

moseabod

Types of cholesterol

Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol: Often referred to as "bad" cholesterol, LDL cholesterol carries cholesterol from the liver to the cells.

High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol: This is known as "good" cholesterol as it helps remove LDL cholesterol from the arteries and transports it back to the liver, where it is processed and removed from the body.

Note: Measuring Apo B levels in the blood can be informative for assessing cardiovascular risk. Since each LDL particle contains one Apo B-100 molecule, the Apo B level is considered a more accurate indicator of atherogenic particle number than LDL cholesterol levels alone. Elevated Apo B levels may indicate an increased number of atherogenic lipoproteins in the bloodstream.
